In time, when you are passionate about something you truly love, you always have a need to share it with the world. Fashion is something that I hold dearest to my heart. I came into this world wanting to style individuals since I was six years old. I guess the same dream hit Malini Murjani at a young age being born into a family that oozed fashion from its pores; after all she is the daughter of renowned Indian retail mogul Mohan Murjani of the Murjani group. Malini attended F.I.T and wanted to take on the business side of fashion. She later realized that designing is where her heart pointed her to. She launched her business in 2000 as a handbag designer. Malini is known for her ”sensual skins, jeweled buckles, exotic stones and edgy metals.
I wanted to feature Malini Murjani in Addikted2Fashion’s “Featured Addiktions” . She is a woman that I admire in the business. I spent a couple of days doing research on her. Reading some of her interviews she did for Sapna Magazine in 2006 had me realizing that she is a down to earth woman who is confident, intelligent, and loves fashion, not mention has a great sense of style. Being able to achieve success as a women in this world/industry is a huge achievement in itself. Young ladies around the globe can read her story and believe that anything is possible. One thing my mother would always say to me growing up was: “Remember Pamala, you can become anything you want in this world, remember to be tactful, poise, and confident. Always remain true to yourself and never let anyone tell you differently.” Malini is an ”Inspiration” in every sense of the word Thank you for being you. {Wink}
Malini’s Spring 2010 collection is defined by one word, “Breathtaking”. My first reaction in entering her website was WOW. Now everyone knows that I’m a huge accessory Addik and it takes a lot for me to go gaga over things, however Malini’s handbags had me sitting upright in my chair. Her attention to details is impeccable. Her choices of colors, patterns and metals are a force to be reckoned with. She brings that “Indian Charm” in using certain burst of colors by adding exotic stones. I can definitely see why high-end boutiques and stores quickly jumped on the Malini Brand.
Her 2010 collection is described as:
“Inspired by the pristine beaches of Formentera, Spain, Malini Murjani’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection evokes the sensual sun rays that radiate the island sands on a hot summer morning. Muted metallics, mandarin orange, coral, taupe and cognac combine for a luxurious color palette fit for a sun goddess. The collection speaks timeless sophistication and luxury, yet whispers a tone of free spirited fancy. Hobos of mesh metals and supple leathers, whip snake structured shoulder bags, and resin accordion clutches with coral turn locks; all confident and versatile in design for the stylish, world traveling woman of today.”
