It is with sad news to inform you that Alexander McQueen passed away today in his London home at the age of 40. Alexander McQueen was my FAVORITE designer. Alexander McQueen was a designer that knew no boundaries. His imagination was captivating from collection to collection. His sense of style set the tone for many designers to follow. Alexander McQueen’s early runway collections developed his reputation for controversy and shock tactics. He was about being an individual and standing up for what he believed in. According to the New York Times:
“Mr. McQueen was born in London in 1969, the youngest of six children and the son of a taxi driver. His is the classic story of the kid from the other side of the tracks making it big. As a young boy of Scottish descent growing up in England, he showed a passion for fashion by the age of 3. He was called ”McQueer” in school, and his father expected him to become an electrician or a plumber like the rest of the lads. Then one day his mother gave him a present that changed everything — a book about people in fashion — and it suggested to him that his dreams could come true.”
Family, friends and the Fashion Industry lost a beloved friend and wonderful designer. He was truly talented and a modern day genius when it came to designing clothes. I can truly say that I am at lost for words right now. I will not get into his career and his life long story, McQueen’s accomplishments speaks volumes. Lee McQueen will be missed and never forgotten. His legacy will live on through the fashion world for years to come.
RIP Alexander McQueen you will be missed.

You will be forever missed!!
